Pet Owners

Your veterinary surgeon is the first person to turn to if you suspect a problem with your horse's teeth.

When the services of an Equine Dental Technician are required, if you use a member of the BAEDT (British Association of Equine Dental Technicians) you can be certain that the technician has passed the BEVA/BVDA exam and has agreed to the BAEDT code of conduct.

For a full list of BAEDT members, use this link:

Veterinary surgeons and Equine Dental Technicians commonly co-operate. Only a veterinary surgeon can administer sedatives or other drugs, when these are required. Some veterinary surgeons have shown their commitment by also taking the exam for EDTs.

If you are interested in training as an EDT, or maybe more details about the legal position, you are welcome to call Evelyn Barbour-Hill (01248 355674, ebhvet@macunlimited.net) for an informal chat and some advice. Email is preferable.
